Sensei Chris Pellitteri's North American Nunchaku Association teaches all aspects of the
nunchaku (nunchucks or sometimes simply called nunchuck). The North American Nunchaku
Association Nunchaku system is a distance learning course of Martial Arts Kobudo
instruction on DVD. Totalnunchaku.com hosts the North American Nunchaku Associations
website and provides instruction in all aspects of the most popular of Okinawan weapons,
the nunchaku (nunchucks). Covering both traditional and free-style aspects of the nunchaku
(nunchucks) including both single and double nunchaku (nunchucks), students have the
ability to test and earn a black belt and become instructors in this Okinawan weapon. NANA
is part of the AKA (American Kobudo Association) which teaches other Okinawan weapons as
well as the nunchaku, including the bo, jo, hanbo and tekko. Chris Pellitteri is the
senior instructor of NANA and the AKA and is a 7th degree black belt in karate and a 6th
degree black belt in nunchaku (nunchucks) and has been teaching martial arts for over 25
years.
The North American Nunchaku Association (NANA) was founded in 2003 and has been the best
selling nunchaku (nunchuck) DVD on Amazon.com several times. The American Kobudo
Association (AKA) Staff system was started in 2009 with volumes 1 through 4 (out of 6)
available as of August 2010. Nunchaku or nunchucks have long been a favorite of martial
artists and non-martial artists alike, dating back to the early 1970’s when they were
popularized in movies by the legendary Bruce Lee. The NANA nunchaku (nunchuck) system is
built around “kyus” or belt levels from white to black belt. There are currently 8 DVD’s
in the system with more advanced black belt DVD’s planned for release in the near future.
